Isle Vibe Island alternative

A Vibe Island alternative: Isle, for AI coding and the rest of your day

Vibe Island and Isle both put your AI coding sessions in the MacBook notch. Vibe Island goes deeper on agents; Isle covers the agents and the rest of what you do on a Mac. Here is where each one wins.

Isle is made by us. Every fact about Vibe Island comes from vibeisland.app, as of October 9, 2026. If something here is wrong or out of date, write to contact@islenotch.com and we will fix it.

A free option

If you only want usage rings and session status and don’t mind building an app yourself, codenotch is open source (MIT). It covers Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Antigravity and more, and runs on macOS 15. Part of Isle’s session tracking is adapted from it, with credit. Questions

Can I try both?

Yes. Both have a free trial, and they can live on the same Mac, though two apps in one notch will fight for the space. Try one at a time.

Does Isle work with Claude Code in the Claude app or in Codara?

Yes. Sessions opened by other apps show up with the app’s name, and you can reply from the notch. Approving a permission from the notch works in Terminal and iTerm. How the AI module works.

Does Isle need hooks or a plugin in Claude Code?

No. Isle reads Claude Code’s session files on your Mac, so there is nothing to install in Claude Code. They stay on your Mac.
