Which one should you choose?

Choose NotchNook if…

you want the app with the most press coverage (MacStories, iMore and MacMagazine have reviewed it), you would rather pay monthly, or you need one purchase on up to 5 devices.

Choose Alcove if…

your Mac runs macOS 15 but not macOS 26 yet (Isle requires macOS 26), or lock screen widgets matter to you. It costs the same as Isle.

Choose boring.notch if…

you want something free and open source that you can read and change. It covers music, a calendar and a file shelf with AirDrop.

Choose Vibe Island if…

AI coding is the main reason you want a notch app. Its site lists 30 AI coding tools and plan review from the notch; if that list matters most, start there.

Choose Isle if…

you want one app for both sides of your day: your music, a timer and Pomodoro, a file shelf with AirDrop and screenshot annotation, plus AI usage limits and replies to AI sessions, for US$ 14.99 once. And you like the idea of a small mascot in the notch who tells you when your AI is done.
