Isle Changelog
Isle changelog: what’s new in each version
What changed in each release of Isle, the notch app for Mac, newest first. After an update Isle shows these notes, and you can see them again in the … menu of the hub, under What’s New.
Isle 1.0.21
Released · Latest
- License changes take effect right away: with Isle open and online, pausing, revoking or freeing up a Mac reaches the app within seconds. If the Mac is off or offline, it applies as soon as it's back, since Isle also checks when it opens, when you open the island and every few hours, no longer once a month. Nothing locks without internet: Isle never locks because you're offline.
Isle 1.0.20
Released
- A license with an end date or a paused one unlocks right away: once it is renewed or resumed, Isle checks as soon as the end date passes and every time you click the locked island, without waiting until the next day.
Isle 1.0.19
Released
- Isle now speaks English: the whole app, Settings, notes and What's New follow your Mac's language (English or Portuguese). In Portuguese, Islet is called Ilhinha.
- Isle license: a 3-day trial with everything unlocked, then a one-time purchase of US$ 14.99 at islenotch.com, good for up to 3 Macs. The key arrives by email; click "Activate in Isle" or paste it in Settings › License.
- Settings › License shows your license, the Macs using it, and lets you deactivate this Mac to free up a slot. Lost your key? "I Lost My Key" sends it to your email again.
Isle 1.0.18
Released
- Islet is the same size everywhere: in the external display pill, in the middle of the notch when it shows up and next to the MacBook notch. The largest size where nothing gets cut off, not even by the real notch.
Isle 1.0.17
Released
- Islet got a new face: hand-drawn eyes with 20 expressions (happy, laughing, in love, curious, suspicious, thinking, angry, sad, dizzy, oops…), and switching between them is a transformation with a little elastic hop, not a cut.
- She is more alive: she dozes off when you leave the mouse still, falls asleep after a while and wakes up startled when you come back; she gets a fright when the mouse moves very fast; and every click on her face in the hub shows a different joy.
- On an external display, instead of the line you get just Islet: a pill the height of the menu bar with her eyes. Move the mouse over it to see the whole island. You can go back to the line in Settings › Appearance › Position › At Rest.
- The error note shows an X, the waiting-for-you note a curious face, and for music she is listening. With the Focus Timer running she is focused; with low battery, sad; when Isle fails at something, embarrassed; and when something is blocked (missing permission, feature turned off), angry. Each one has its own switch in Settings › Islet.
- Her eyes got bigger on the closed island, on the MacBook and on the external display.
Isle 1.0.16
Released
- You can see what the AI is doing: the AI card shows your request and the current action ("Editing main.swift", "Running the tests"), and Islet tells you when the AI starts and finishes a request. You can turn it off in Settings › Islet.
- Islet's bubble shows up on its own, without opening the island sideways. Whatever needs you (AI waiting, error, limit) stays open until you close or resolve it, and comes back after the volume or brightness notice. All notes are kept in Islet's Notes, in the … menu of the hub, even after you quit the app.
- Reply to the AIs from the island: when a session is waiting for you, its card gets Allow and Deny (in Terminal and iTerm) or a field to reply (in any app, Codara included).
Isle 1.0.15
Released
- Islet now talks to you: in a bubble under her, she tells you when an AI finishes or is waiting for you, the usage limit, the timer, the screenshot, the music… Clicking the bubble opens what she is talking about. Each notice can be turned on or off in Settings › Islet.
- The coffee and the AIs always stay to the right of the notch, without jumping sides. You can choose Left or Automatic in Settings › Appearance › Notch Icons.
- What's New inside the app: after updating, Isle shows what changed. You can see it again in the … menu of the hub, under What's New.
Isle 1.0.14
Released
- Much lighter: Isle used 13% CPU with an AI working; now it stays around 4%.
- Each AI with its brand color in the notch: Claude orange, OpenAI green, Gemini blue…
- Sessions opened by other apps show up with the app name (Codara, iTerm, Ghostty, Zed…) and count as working while a subagent is working.
- The AI icon pulses when it starts or begins waiting for you, and then stays still.
- This window now shows what changed in each version.
